I could live in that nook all day. Delightful and inspiring story, Laura.
I love the idea of “luxuriating in the details”. Having recently gone through a kitchen remodel in my own small house, I can say this definitely made a huge difference in our space, as well. And my partner and I felt liberated by “making the most of the space we had” vs spending 3x as much to expand, move walls, go for more. We were also able to preserve our old cupboards, minimizing waste -- and had fun working on some custom cabinetry to turn those old cupboards into something new.
Thanks for sharing this and reminding us that big things can certainly come in small(er) packages!
Anna, your kitchens sounds like a perfect example of living small! And it reminds me very much of my friend Sophie Donelson's book Uncommon Kitchens--I think you'd like it!
Dying over that breakfast nook with the built-in bookshelves! What a gem of a house.
So, so cute, right?
Yes! The back cushions are 🤩
Gosh those double archways!! Another terrific newsletter Laura :)
And how deep they are--makes such an impact! Thanks for the kind words!

I’ll check it out, Laura. Thanks for the recco!
I love the use of color in this house! It's all so beautiful and inspiring. That breakfast nook, sigh.
Maybe I should have written more about HOW she used color!
